09 Lucerne CXL won't start....or will it?

I went out to start my 09 Lucerne this morning and...nothing. The dash lights came on as normal, and I could hear the fuel pump start over my right shoulder, but ignition-wise......nothing. Not a sound, no clicking, no starter sounds at all. After several attempts, I sat there trying to decide if I should call a friend, or an Uber, or just call my doctor to cancel the appointment I was on my way to. Then, on maybe the tenth try, the car started perfectly normally. I went to my appointment and the car started normally again for the trip home. I just parked at my home, turned the car off, waited ten seconds and turned the key again. It started perfectly normally again. What is going on?

The starter may be on its way out. Next time it fails to crank you should tap on the starter with something like a small hammer or a wrench. How many miles are on the car?

Have the battery load tested, has good contact and have the alternator checked. If a center console shifter confirm that the dashboard is showing in park "P", best guessing on a intermittent problem and details posted.
