Buick Ownership
1986 Buick Electra Park Avenue Convertible
Does anyone know anything about these models? I recently acquired one through family/barn find - it was my grandfathers and it's been parked in a garage at his farm in NH since the mid to late 90's. My father (who's memory is fairly good but starting to falter) says that Buick hired Centurion Customs (known more for Van/Truck custom collabs) to convert 100 1986 Park Ave Coupes into convertibles and they were given as gifts to 100 dealerships (1 each). My grandfather always drove Cadillacs and would get new ones pretty frequently so he became friendly with the dealership owner. When the dealership owner received his Park Ave convertible, he didn't want it, so he offered to sell it to my grandfather and my grandfather did. I can't seem to find ANY evidence that these cars ever existed, besides the one now sitting in my garage. Can anyone confirm (or refute) any parts of this story or know anything about where this car came from?

I have one as well. My Dad bought it from a dealer for my Mom. I would sure love to know the story behind these cars and if there is any documentation available.
