Hello.

I am trying to get this 1987 Custom Buick 4-door fuel injected car to turn over properly.
It's not mine. It's someone else's vehicle. This is the 2nd day I've had a chance to play with it.

The vehicle DID turn over (with a dead battery that held no charge) three times in a row.
It would cut out (and die) if you pressed the accelerator more than 2 inches down.
While I was driving it in a circle (testing it): I floored it on purpose to kill it. It died.

The vehicle has not cranked and turned over (running) since then. It's almost turned over (sounding like it).
I bought a GOOD battery for it today. It's pulling the proper voltage. That's definitely not a culprit.
With the NEW battery (holding a charge): The vehicle almost turns over, but not quite (as if it's something else).

The vehicle idled perfectly fine. No misfires. No burning. No smoke. No malfunctions of any sort.
The vehicle would cut out (neutral/park) when the accelerator was pressed down too much.

The potential culprits that come to my mind (without having had checked anything):
- Mass Air Flow sensor (doubtful; No smell, nothing from the exhaust)
- Throttle Position Sensor (possible; Vehicle malfunctions when the vehicle is NOT idling)
- Lambada sensor(s) (possibly, but doubtful)
- Fuel filter (possibly clogged; Causing a failure of fuel being injected)
- Fuel pump (possibly dying; Causing it both to cut out when gas pedal pressed, and refusing to start now)

I am not sure if there is a schrader valve. If there is: I can definitely check the fuel pressure (fuel pump / fuel delivery issue).
I am not quite sure how to check the distributor cap on this vehicle with a multi-meter.
I do not have the proper tools to pull the MAF sensor out to check it with a multi-meter.
I do not know where the TP sensor is at to check it with a multi-meter either.

The oil level is golden. There's a slight leak (head gasket), but that shouldn't cause enough of a drop in pressure to affect it.

Any ideas? Anything that I could potentially be missing, or over looking?

What size engine do you have?

Also - is your service engine soon light on? If so, you have a code set and it needs to be read on a scanner - please post the code(s) here when you get a chance.

The engine size? Not sure. I believe the exterior said 3600 on it.
Oh! I forgot to post about that (slipped my mind!): There are no CEL codes.
