1990 & 1994 Buick LeSabre Custom
I have a 1994 Buick LeSabre Custom with the regular manual push-button HVAC controls. This morning, I was running the air and everything was fine, but it stopped blowing for a few minutes. It came back and I didn't think anything of it.

Later in the day, it did it again. I noticed that the mode button wasn't lit up, and I tried pushing other buttons, but to avail. It wouldn't change modes or blow or do anything, but after a while it came back on, with the A/C on just like I had it, though I had pushed several other buttons while it was out.

By this evening, it quit and won't do anything. Even the rear defogger button won't light up when I push it. It doesn't blow, and none of the modes light up.

I'm thinking about checking circuit breakers in the morning. What else should I look for?

So, I started kicking around at where the ground bus is supposed to be, along the floor just under the driver's door, and I partially uncovered the loom. I slapped at it and shook it around while pressing the VENT button. Nothing. I reached up and touched the fuse block, and the vent blew for about a second. To make a long story short, last night's big argument about how I had bought a lemon and nothing I ever do is enough was caused by a bent or out-of-line contact in the fuse block (5D, Base HVAC) that would lose connection with the fuse at times. I think I've got it straightened out, though I can still hear something click occasionally if the fuse block is moved around.

If I heard a clicking near a fuse block I would tend to think relay.
