I have a 1995 Park Avenue. and I am experiencing a multitude of problems and based off of research and the types of problems they are I believe i have a bad BCM.

My first problem is my door locks will lock but not unlock. I hear a click from the area where the BCM is located in the dash when I push the unlock button but nothing happens. Lock works perfect every time.

My second problem is a while back my dome lights got stuck on and would not go off without removing the fuse. I tried multiple times to fix this issue but every time i put the fuse back in same problem, then one day they just started working correctly and they have been fine for like 4-5 months now and are still working correctly however a friend of mine has a 96 park avenue and his do the same thing but they are stuck that way and no matter what they are stuck on, I also hear it is a common problem but I still am unsure about this.

And third My power recline will not work on either seat. All other seat functions work tho. When you move the power recline switch you hear a click, you hear the motor engage and then nothing. and if you hold it to long nothing happens. Both seats are stuck pretty far reclined and are interfering with the my kids car seats so I really need to figure this issue out.

One more thing, the trunk button does not work. and again like the unlock switch you hear like a relay click but nothing happens.

All help would be appreciated I have another child on the way and I really really need to get these issues fixed especially the seat recline..

Thanks in advance,

One question - is the key fob able to unlock the doors?

Do all of the locks not unlock?

Have you tried just unlocking another door with it's own switch? Passenger front, left and right passenger?

There is a Door Lock Relay Assembly - not sure if it's where the other relays are or up under the dash. Within the Door Lock Relay Assembly there are two separate areas - one for locking and another for unlocking. I think it's one unit so if one is bad the whole unit will have to be replaced.

I believe this link shows the diagram and part #11 is the Door Locks Relay Assembly - it's described as a 6-Way relay and it is located within the drivers door - http://parts.nalleygmc.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=365778&ukey_product=2594858

Here's a link to the relay on Ebay - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro....TR0.TRC0.H0.X12065122&_nkw=12065122&_sacat=0

There are two different systems for interior courtesy lamps - one with and another without Illuminated Entry lamps - if you have the With then there are 6 fuses / circuits that control the entire system. If you have Without then there are 5 fuses / circuits that control the system.

I did notice that there was at least one common ground point on both the door lock circuit and the interior lamps - Ground Point 203. That might be worth investigating as bad grounds cause some seemingly unrelated electrical problems. Again, someone with a FSM may be able to tell you exactly where that ground point is physically located.

The recline function in the front seats is on it's own circuit and protected by one fuse - or in this case a circuit breaker - Circuit Breaker 3 - 25 Amp in the I/P Fuse Block. If the circuit breaker is good then again I see the common ground point 203 for the right seat recline and ground point 200 for the left recline.

Fuse 2 in the Relay Center controls the Trunk Release Circuit - check the relay as well. The PNP switch for the PRND123 position needs to work as well - if the switch does not show P or N the trunk release will not engage.

As far as getting the recline to work - you may be able to jumper a live 12V directly from the battery to the power side of the recline motor (LT GRN wire) to get it to move forward as a last resort.
