1996 Regal check engine burnt out

Hi I have a 1996 Buick Regal 3.1 the check engine light doesnt work and when we were driving the car died. It would not restart and still won't. It turns over but not try to start. I have a CarMD and when I hooked it up as directed it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this applies to your car, but I've run into this (no CEL and no communication with scanner) on other cars when the cigarette lighter fuse is blown. Check your fuses, and also see if a coin has fallen into the lighter socket.
