Sorry for being away from the site so long. Had my "baby" Buick in the shop recently for a bad radio. When I first started driving my new Encore I noticed the radio would cut out like a skipping CD. It would happen sporadically, as most car troubles do. I chucked it up to indexing of files or bad bitrates. But, the other day the whole radio just died. On star was fine, car still ran. Used onstar to make an appointment to get it checked. On the way to the dealership it just starting working, while I was driving. Boot up screen just came up like it does when you crank up the car. Of course they found nothing wrong, but GM authorized a replacement at the dealerships request.
No more "skipping" 🙂 BUT now when I use the key fob to unlock my car, the screen will light up with a blank screen for about 20sec. Is this normal? Old radio never did it. But, aside from that it works perfect. And I feel the dealership did me a solid already. Thanks everyone.
P.S.
It's a base model non Bose.
