Decided to re-do the sagging headliner in my 2001 LeSabre Custom, but upon removing all the bolts and disconnecting the necessary cables I found one in the back that doesn't have a means of unplugging (see pictures). How do I disconnect this last bit? Seems like it keeps running into the bumper. Thanks in advance

Hi. Did u solve your headliner problem?

Any pointers for replacing or reattaching the headliner? I just got a 2001 LeSabre Custom with a very droopy headliner.

Hey, yes I did. I actually had to completely remove the wiring that is glued in place on the underside of the headliner. I marked off with tape/sharpie where certain electrical ends went on the headliner so that I could match it up at the same locations at the end (I just glued it back in place.

It's a little tricky getting the headliner out of the car, I found it works best when you let the front end go down and towards the passenger side door. You'll have to squeeze certain sides/edges a bit when you move it in or out but it shouldn't damage the headliner board.

I bought new headliner material (from some random site that sold it by the yard), it came with the foam backing stuff (which is pretty standard). I followed YouTube videos for most it, make sure you buy enough of the spray sealant/glue stuff, I almost ran out with 1 full can. Also make sure you have a decently large flat surface to work on that's clean.

Hope this helps! Good luck

Random thoughts, dry fit the new material, use chalk for alignment lines on new material, don't try to do more than you can reach, take photos of removing the original at conections, lights etc., a small 2 inch paint roller works for smooth it down, watch out for the glue lol.
