2001 PA base seat cushions

I'm looking at getting my seats reupholstered because they have become hard and uncomfortable and even cracked . Has anyone had their seats reupholstered ? If so do you have any tips as far as what materials were used? I had my seat motor gears replaced at a shop and he told me that he could change the seat cushion using generic foam that he buys in cubes . Not sure how much comfort they will provide. I was thinking of asking if he could resurface the seats using cloth pillow top material . Just trying to get some ideas.
