2002 Buick Century Transmission Question

My wife has a '02 Century Custom. I'm noticing a problem when it shifts, it won't do it all the time but lately has done it quite a bit, during the shift it feels like something is bouncing, the feeling comes directly from the center hump in the front. Could it be signs of the torque converter going bad? I don't think it's ever had a service, thinking a fluid change (none flush), new filter, and maybe even band adjustment may help out.

What's the mileage on the car? A good flush/pan drop and filter won't hurt! And it's a start!

also check the tranny mount. make sure its in tact and not coming apart.
