Hey everybody. I just recently picked up an 02 Lesabre Custom. Its showing a U1255 code. Has anybody had this code and what have you done to fix it? The car drives normal and if it weren't for the air bag light being on I wouldn't even worry about it. Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

The code means a module is not receiving a signal from a module that it is expecting a signal from. In your case I would suspect the Air Bag Module under the seat since the light is on.

Ok thanks. Do you have any information on where the airbag module is? Is it in the middle of the car under the carpet? I think I saw it when I repaired the rear floorboards. And if the connector looks fine should I assume the airbag module is faulty?

It's under the center console towards the rear of it. I would take it to a garage and let them diagnose it. If the SDM is bad, the dash integration module will have to be reprogrammed with the SDM's serial# which requires a tech II scanner. The airbag light could be on for other reasons. Was the U1255 the only code found? Was the rear floor board flooded? The water would have to be pretty deep I would think in order to effect the module. Either way I think you will need a tech II scanner to find and fix the issue.

Funny you mention flooding in the back because both rear floor boards were rotted out so I had to repair them but I don't think it was from flooding. I will get ahold of my GM dealership and see if they have a way to test it. Thanks!
