So I own a 2002 Rendezvous CXL with only 35,000 miles and we are having a lot of intermittent problems.
I hope this doesn't post twice because I had a problem with trying to post it.
I also want everyone to know that I did search the threads for this and I found some with similar issues like the rear hatch not working but I didn't see a solution.
The first issue we have is that the button inside the car to open the rear hatch is not working. We bought the car in October of 2014 and it hasn't worked since we bought it. This issue is not intermittent.
The next problem we have is the panic alarm goes off intermittently for no apparent reason. I notice it a lot when I am walking away from the car. I can be 50 feet from the car and all of a sudden the horn will stop beeping and I will have to turn around to turn it off.
Another intermittent issue we have is the power locks don't work all of the time. It is set to where when I put it in park, all of the doors should unlock and it does work sometimes, most of the time it doesn't . Same goes for when I push the unlock button on the driver or passenger door or when I use the remote to unlock the door. The only door that unlocks is the driver door. I can't seem to figure out if there is something causing this. The locks seem to work first thing in the morning but as soon as you drive it somewhere, they don't work anymore.
I don't know tons about cars but I was wondering if it had something to do with the cable connected to the battery but the car doesn't seem to lose any information such as time and radio presets.
Any help would be appreciated. The dealership wants to charge me $120 to diagnose the problem.
