2003 Lesabre stalling i.e. not idling

2003 Buick LeSabre

the engine has stalled twice today no recent changes or any reason for this?

Once it happened when I was just coasting and went to give it gas and noticed that it was off -put in neutral and restarted, both times - the second time I was coming to a stop sign and it stopped idling again.

What might be causing this ??

Scan it for codes first.

Make sure your serp belt is tight and that the alternator is not slipping.

There is a electric valve in the throttle body, "Idle Air Control Valve" when this gets gummed up, or fails, there is a situation as you describe.

Check fuel pressure at rail, also MAF can cause problems without setting a code.
