Regal
Buick Newbie
I have a 2003 Regal LS. I have recently been having a lot of issues with it.
The 1st issue is the gas gauge. It started out that when it would get low on gas it would say it was full all the time. Now (as of 2 days ago) it doesn't read at all, and it also dives down to empty and the low fuel light and warning bell of off, so needless to say I can't even tell how much gas is in it. What do I need to do to find/fix this problem?
Issue number two. I have a P0442 code on my car. I'm pretty sure that it isn't the gas cap being screwed in all the way. What else could it be, and how hard is it to fix?
Issue number three. My digital odometer isn't working any more, except for on that very very rare occasion that it will actually come on for a short period of time. I've been told that I should take the cluster out and replace the resistors on the board, which I haven't had a chance to do. Will changing the resistors fix the problem or is it something else?
Now for the final issue. Ever since the day I bought this Regal (2 years ago) I have noticed that is always to to run hot in the summer, never to the point of overheating, but hot enough that it alarms me some because none of my other cars have ever run that hot. Is this just a regular thing for these cars or do I need to flush the cooling system and change the thermostat?
