I know battery is under seat and I want to keep my battery on trickle charge this winter since I will not be using it regularly. Please advise on connection points in engine compartment. I see the positive but there is no negative. I was always under the impression I needed to hook straight to negative as well as positive while trickle charging and not just an unpainted metal surface. Greatly appreciate some feedback!

I have trickle chargers on multiple vehicles and any unpainted surface under the hood is a good ground. Trickle chargers are low amperage and you dont need a direct ground.

Check the owners manual for underhood jumping instructions for positive and negative locations if in doubt.

Alternator Mounting bolts or case is a good ground. It is the same way you would jump start it although removing the rear seat and going directly to the battery is a much better way considering your engine grounds may me marginal. I kept a battery going for seven years in my last Lesabre.

I always use the alternator brace bracket bolt for my ground point when testing or boosting off A Lesabre this is of mine the circled0426191124_HDR.jpg
