My 2004 Century, about 75K miles, developed a hard start condition when warm. Cold starting was rapid and reliably so. But after driving for a few minutes - like going to the store and parking - then returning to the car it would take 3-5 seconds of cranking to start but it would reliably start. I looked for possible solutions on the forum.

The fuel filter had been changed and a couple of emission codes had been repaired in the last several months but the condition persisted. The 'likely suspects' were the fuel pump in the tank and the fuel pressure regulator attached to the engine. I decided to replace the fuel pressure sensor because I thought it would be easier than getting into the fuel tank to replace the pump. Bingo! That was just what was needed. the car starts immediately and even seems to run with more power than before. So anyone with this warm hard start condition should seriously consider this solution.
