I bought a beat-up LeSabre after wrecking my Honda Odyssey. It was a beater with a heater, but everything worked. Gradually, things have quit working. I don't have a scan tool to read data from any module but the PCM.
The power locks work, but not by remote. The car receives signals from the remotes, because it changes user settings for each fob.
The low oil light comes on if the car has been sitting for more than 10 minutes or so.
The car forgets codes. For example, it started misfiring, and the CEL flashed. While it was running, I read a P0303. After I shut it off, it only showed a P0300 and a transmission code.
Recently, it quit responding to temperature changes on the climate control. It only blows cold.
If this was a newer GM car, I would suspect the BCM. I don't know which module does which function in this car with its 3 module body control setup.
Anybody know the breakdown on the functions, or have any leads for me?
A new scan tool is on order.
