I recently got a 2008 Buick Lucerne CXS and I'm suspecting that the Lane Departure Warning system doesn't work on it. The orange symbol lights up in the dash when the car starts up, but that's it. The little light on the button is always off, and the symbol never lights up or anything while on the road. There's no error message or anything either.

Is there anything I could possibly do about it myself? From a few other threads I've seen, it sounds like it could get expensive to have a dealership repair it.

Thanks!

I am researching this also. 08 CXL purchase and want all the bells and whistles to work. Hope we can refresh this thread.

On most of these GM it's the LDW module that has gone out and while it can be replaced by a owner it requires a dealer for calibration, it can also be a sensor has gone bad or became unpluged. But it's worth looking at the harness and connections to make sure that they are in good condition.
