I have a 2011 Lacrosse that I bought new. It has 74K miles. About 6 months ago, the driver's side window developed a vertical crack roughly above where the window controls are located. It happened while I was driving on the interstate, starting at the top of the window and quickly spread all the way down out of sight below the weather stripping. Today, the exact same thing occurred in the same place, but on the front passenger side! This time it happened while I was stopped at a light. There are no chips or cracks. There's no indication of attempted forced entry. If it had happened once, I would have said it was a fluke, but the same thing happening to both windows is too much of a coincidence. Has anybody else experienced problems with side windows cracking for no apparent reason?

Not side windows but did have the front windshield passenger side midway up start cracking while driving on interstate. I inspected the area but could not find any defects or debris impact in the area of cracking.

The same thing just happened to our 2012 lacrosse! HAir line crack from the top of the window across to the side of the window. So strange

There are many things that will cause a front windshield to crack, pin size chips is the most common. Side and rear windows are another story. There are lots of reports on the net regarding this issue from heat, cold, air pressure, poor parts, poor alignment, etc. Here's one from Canada on a Fiat, but other manufacturers have customers reporting it also a long with other news media.
