- 2012 Regal GS Carbon Black Metallic
Relatively new here, first time post, used the search function but couldn't find any post related to this issue...
I own a 2012 Regal GS...
I was on a road trip in Tennessee and when pulling out of a rest area I accelerated to merge onto the freeway and my engine started running very rough, the check engine light began blinking (from experience with previous cars I've owned I realized this meant the engine was misfiring) so I pulled over to the side of the freeway. I let the engine cool down (I realized this probably wouldn't help, but was hoping maybe it was electrical or something minor that might temporarily fix itself) and then drove one mile down the road to the nearest motel, put in for the night and in the morning had it towed to the nearest Buick dealer for service. After an hour or so they told me I had a blown head. Fortunately the car is under a certified pre-owned warranty and I don't have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. When I asked how long it would take for repairs, they told me 7-8 days to get the part(s) in and another 2-3 days to fix the engine. I got a rental car to continue my vacation and now am back in the Detroit area where I live, it's been 8 days since I dropped the car at the dealership and they just told me that the replacement head would take another 2 days to arrive. My question is.. does anyone here know if this is a reasonable amount of time to expect a part to arrive at the dealership for a repair? I'm also fairly annoyed that the engine had this kind of failure when it's still relatively new (57k miles).
Any help or insight is highly appreciated.
