2012 Lacrosse Navigation

Ok, so I've read the post regarding this and still cannot find the definite answer! I have a 2012 lacrosse with the UFU radio with UP9 Bluetooth and intellalink, can I install a 2013 UHQ navigation radio? If so, can the dealer recode the radio to my vin to unlock or do I need to find a local install shop? This radio would be coming from a salvage yard so it will be locked.

Yes. I just did one not too long ago.

Thanks. Looks like I am going on the hunt for my parts. Did you need any additional wiring?

Just FAKRA gps was the only wiring (if you call it that).

Thanks for replying back. I have a couple more questions. I want to make sure i ask everything before i go spending money. Id like to make sure i get everything i need. Thanks in advance for all the help.

1. do your steering wheel controls work ok or did you have to change them out for the 2013 ones?

2. I noticed that the 2012 radio buttons are different than the 2013 ones. 2012 has hdd,rec,del buttons where the 2013 does not have that. DO I need to get the 2013 controls or can I use the 2012?

2. I ended up ordering control panel for (from) 2013 nav unit. UYE control panel (that I had) did not work as in, key mappings were wrong. Maybe UYS (2012 nav) and UHQ (2013 nav) are compatible. I do not know. There is someone else who did it on the forum. He may have used the UYS control with UHQ radio.

Thanks for the reply. I did get my answer. Looks like the 2012 control panel will not work with the uhq. I ordered the 2013 parts.
