I was curious if anyone knows if there was any software updates for this year, that may have improved transmission shifting? I have a 2012 now, but had a 2014 I bought brand new. Both cars shift points feel the exact same, meaning they are extremely erratic lol. Sometimes it shifts smooth as butter. Sometimes it shifts hard, sometimes it shifts soft. To me, if it seems like a the trans and the engine have no idea what eachother are doing. I never got my 2014 checked for updates, and I have no Idea if this 2012 ever did either. I unfortunately can't remember how my 2014 shifted when brand new, nor when the trans started acting up. It however went to 175k before someone smashed into the rear door and quarter panel. So it never hurt the trans, just always annoyed me. I also always drove it like a cruise car, not a race car. Seeing how both cars shift the same, was curious if there was an update I never got lol. Curious what you all might think. No DTC's or CEL.

I suppose you could have the dealer drain and fill the transmission fluid. That helped shifting points and smoothness with our Buick LaCrosse 2.4 with a similar 6T40 at 35k miles.

For some newish transmissions, replacing the fluid might be a good idea early. There is always a risk of fluid changes, particularly older transmissions that are on their way out. Speak to a transmission pro.

I just got the transmission fluid changed out in my '14 Verano at 53k miles. It helped with the weird shift points. Could be that it's just due.
