Buick Ownership
2014 Verano
Hey all. I am a new Verano owner. I have been searching but I can’t quite get a decent answer. I have the Bose version and am trying to replace the factory radio with an android version. It came with a wiring harness and it powers up but I get no audio.

Maybe the amp isn’t powered up? Maybe I am missing something in the harness? Has anyone done this before or does anyone have a pinout for the factory harnesses?

Thanks!

Hello,
I have previously installed one of those Android units, it actually seemed to work pretty well however it did not fit properly and it looked bad so I took it back out.

I also have the Bose sound system and it worked.
I noticed some listings actually stated that it won't work with the Bose audio, not sure why, as long as the amp is receiving its turn on signal the speakers should be hooked up in the same way, I don't remember having to use any additional wiring for the purposes of sound.
I messaged the seller and asked them to include a CANBUS box for a 2013 us verano with Bose audio and they said ok, guessing the CANBUS box handles the amp signal?
I did also need to find an adapter for the reverse camera , which I was able to do and it worked better then the OEM actually, added proximity sensors on screen which was cool.

As for your issue, did they include a CANBUS box? Mine was actually programmed for a 2015 Buick verano even though I have a 13, maybe that was the fix for the Bose system.
Otherwise I'd say try finding a wire diagram for the radio/amp , find the turn on signal and run power to it as a test.

Hello. I was wondering about the ease of hooking up the hazards with your model aftermarket radio? If it was easy can you please let me know what model aftermarket radio you got? I have researched a few but none are clear on the way the connection is.

So the hazards are the least troublesome thing, that actually just worked fine with the button on the new radio. The troubles however, are that you'll lose your trunk button so make sure you have a key with the trunk release. Also, the air bag light will cause problems if you don't receive the adapter that comes with newer units, you have to use the adapter to keep your original air bag light plugged in otherwise you'll get errors on the dash. If you're looking on AliExpress (tough now with the tariffs unfortunately) the sellers are quick to reply and usually seem to understand what you're asking for so just send them a picture of your dash when inquiring. And don't forget the frame won't properly fit the climate controls if you're gonna get a Tesla style one like the pictured above.
