Buick Ownership
2015 Buick Regal T-Type
After getting this 2015 Buick Regal from my daughter in November 2023, I have had the most fun customizing this car. Long story short, bought for my daughter (probably because I secretly wanted it), her insurance went through the roof, so I sold my Cadillac XTS and the Buick quickly became mine.

Decided to rebadge the car to a Vauxhall Insignia VXR, something I wanted to do with my 2009 G8 to a Holden but never did. Ordered badges from the UK and others from Alibaba. If anyone wants to know what it took or where to get them would be happy to share.

So finished the rebadge (still need to get a steering wheel badge) today and couldn’t be happier.

The big thing I did was the Trifecta tune. The best $500 spent and the best result of any upgrade I have on any car I have owned. I have had a Camaro RS, Camaro SS/RS, a Mustang GT, Pontiac G8, and all sorts of V8 and V6 cars and I feel pretty strongly that after this tune this is the best upgrade.

First gear is real now, and the engine is easily pushing the increases they promise in torque and up increase. Will take to dyno to find out because I am blown away and it is so much fun to drive.

I also got some carbon mirror caps and a 9.7 Tesla style Apple Car Play radio which is very cool looking, works great and makes the 2105 look newer inside. China has literally everything for this model from electronics and replacement parts to customer body panels.

Anyone add this tune or rebadge as well?

Thanks for the Pictures, looks good.
I never thought about the Center Caps and the Door Seal Kick Plates.
I don't care much for the Carbon Mirror Caps, but that's me (to each their own)!
I like the look of the Touchscreen, but I'll just stick with my 8" Screen.
I've got Apple Car Play and Android Auto, so I'm good!

As for the Airbag, are you getting a New Airbag that already has the Vauxhall Badging?
I've heard that changing the Badging out on the Airbag is difficult.

The center caps were a challenge. Order 2 different ones from GB but they were all too big. Finally got these metal stamped, curved Vauxhall stickers that work perfect on top of the Buick center caps. Turned out they also fit the horn badge perfect so ordered some more from Alibaba (4 pack) I don’t want to replace airbag so this way I didn’t need to. Once that is done there will be no Buick anywhere.

When I ordered the front VXR badge, which are metal, they sent me 5, so I am going to put one above the glove box on the lower dash as a bonus.

Just ordered a new GB license plate for front. I am loving the confused looks. The manager at the car wash stood behind it with arms crossed for about 30 secs trying to figure it out and then asked. He was from Syria and said his car was half front half vauxhall, back half Plymouth and had a Chinese motor, lol.

I'm impressed with those Center Caps, they don't look like stickers!

You may want to check into one of these, it may fit: Vauxhall Insignia Steering Wheel Air Bag
The Vauxhall Insignia is the European Version of the Regal, but don't take my word for it,
do your own homework!

The Vauxhall Part Number for the Black Air Bag is 22992537
The Buick Part Number for the Black Air Bag is 22992528
The Buick Part Number for the Brown Air Bag is 22992529

How did u get Apple CarPlay and Android?

I purchased Used HMI and Radio Modules on Ebay and then sent them
to White Automotive and Media Services to have them Reprogrammed
to my vehicles VIN (You also have to Upgrade the USB).
Go to the: Shop Tab (at the top)> Products and Services (from the Drop Down)
then Scroll down to Regal.
You can Purchase New Modules from WAMS (White) instead of the used
like I purchased, but this had already cost me enough.

It was a bit on the pricy side, but it kept me looking stock.
BTW, I do think this Upgrade is cheaper now then it was when I upgraded mine.
In my area, if I had purchased something like acaprice purchased, I'm sure
my car would have been broken into and it would have been stolen by now.

Wow these are cheap! I will read up on how to install them and see if that’s an option. The sticker will be a very simple option, but the real one is legit.

I've seen posts where they talked about changing the badging on the Steering Wheel Air Bag.
Not sure if anyone ever got around to actually changing the badging or not?
I do remember them talking about sourcing a Steering Wheel Air Bag from an Insignia.
Again, not sure of the results, I wasn't really interested in doing it to my Regal.
But for that Price, it would be hard to say no to it if was doing what you are doing!

I do have a Brand-New Steering Wheel for my Regal, but I will have to reuse my Air Bag
(the Air Bag is still in great shape).
I picked up my steering wheel on Ebay for $45, wasn't that I really needed it, but the Leather
does over time wear out.
It's good my Air Bag is in good shape, they are $180 to $350 on Ebay and they are a
Discontinued part.

I finished up the Vauxhall today. New license plate, metal, customized and delivered from Amazon in a week! Used one of the metal embossed stickers I used for the wheels for the steering wheel. Not the same as the airbag switch but fits perfect over the Buick logo. Then had extra metal VXR badges so added in to the dash. No more Buick badging anywhere so I think this project is done for now… lowering springs are next.

I forgot that I also replaced all the lights, interior, exterior, headlights and fog lights with LEDs and looks great.

I changed out my Headlight and Fog Light to LED the first year I bought my Regal.
I love how much brighter it is at night (rarely ever have the Fog Lights on).

As for the Steering Wheel, if it works for you, that's what really counts!

I'm looking into doing this on a 2016, it seems my grill emblem may be different than yours? My emblem has no black flat ring behind it like I've seen on all the examples. I can take pictures if necessary. I was wondering if I should go with a single stick on style or if I should go with a real grill emblem. Same goes for the trunk or "boot" emblem. There is a mess of them for sale on ebay, or alibaba, temu, etc. but I would hate to tear into it only to find it isn't a straight swap and now I have no badge you know?

The front grill version came with the black background when I ordered it, the the original Buick is rounded and the Vauxhall is flat. Gain access to to behind the grill, I unbolted the top 5 screws, then used 2 rolled up towels to hold bumper out so i could reach down. There are 3 clips that hold it in and you cna unclip with your fingers. After taking it off, I removed the chrome logo, then I took a grinder to the black Buick rounded portion underneath until it was flat and worked fine with couple tabs of gorilla glue for the new emblem. Here is the one I ordered: Vauxhall Insignia A Front Bumper Radiator Grille Chrome Badge Emblem 2009-2014 | eBay

For the back I took a simple black plastic school folder (Amazon.com) and cut out the circle to add the black and it looks factory, especially with the slight texture to it. I ordered this one ORIGINAL Vauxhall INSIGNIA REAR / TAILGATE GRIFFIN BADGE / EMBLEM NEW 13266396 | eBay

On the LaCrosse forums, there is a 2017 GS tribute with badging and mods worth seeing. He even upgraded the steering wheel (with some effort to get the airbag sorted)

It came installed with the new Tesla style radio. It is an android auto device with a separate Apple Car Play app. They are even cheaper if you just want android.
I'm having trouble getting my steering wheel controls to work. Also haven't found where to plug in the backup camera.

Matt74,
From what I've read about those Aftermarket Tesla Style Radios, the Steering Wheel Controls never seem to work! In their Online Descriptions they make it sound like
they will work, but the actual reviews of the customers say they don't work.

The Camera: From what I've read, you will have to replace the OEM Camera with an Aftermarket Camera (and run a new wire for it).

these are both true I replace the camera, original was really blurry anyway. I am going to a better install if the camera possibly in the original position soon. The steering wheel controls don’t work, but only for the radio, cruise and screen navigation works fine.

I have considered replacing the OEM Radio with an Aftermarket Tesla Style Radio.
I was hoping it would all be Plug and Play, I really have no desire to run wires (anywhere).

I used to Install Stereos in Vans (in a custom van shop).
We mainly got new vans in, stripped them down, then built them back up to the
customers specs (windows, sunroofs, running boards, seating, etc...).
I was the only guy there that installed the entertainment systems.

I really don't want to have to tear my own car apart to run new wires, etc...
Replacing the HMI and Radio Module in my Regal was enough work for me
(had to do it about 6-8 times, lost count), (long stories).

I'm that guy that needs my Steering Wheel Controls to work.
I use them a lot, Volume and Channel Up/Down.
