2016 Buick Regal Drivers Side Vanity Mirror flap

Does anyone know where in the world I can get the part for my Buick Regal that is JUST the flap that covers my vanity mirror on my left side. I do not need to get the whole visor. It would be an easy install that I could do myself. The thing fell off all by itself while I was putting my visor up. I have searched salvage yards online, Ebay, all places and cannot find just the flap. I do not want to pay a hundred bucks when it is a piece of plastic is all I need. Thanks

The short answer is the junk yard, or possibly one of the many online salvage places. Unfortunately, they're all probably going to want to sell you the entire visor. Most of the GM parts sites I've found show the visor at $75, which of course is ridiculous, but here we are. Cheapest I found on eBay is $50 (linky).

This really does highlight one of the biggest issues I have with our cars: spare parts. It seems like many things are just simply discontinued and those that are available are prohibitively expensive.

The only other thing I could think of, if you have a good relationship with your dealer, is to see if they'll cover it under warranty. However, depending where you're at, it might be better to just play the lottery.

The flap broke on my visor so I used some clear 2" wide packaging tape to hold it in place. I put the tape across the top so it acts like a hinge so I can still open the flap to use the mirror. After a few years it's still holding the flap in place.

Well damn! Yesterday my wife broke the passenger flap and 10 minutes later I broke the driver flap trying to see how I might be able to replace it. Now I see that it's a common problem. Well at lease they match!

I have replaced the driver's side visor due to a broken hinge. Don't you know the SAME hinge broke again?! I ordered another one from ebay for $50. I have a 2016 Buick Enclave that I love. Solid vehicle with cheap interior parts from China.
