Have noticed the engine oil temp get to the first larger white mark above the middle 200 mark. it does this whenever i go on freeways and city driving. freeway rapidly gets it there. i dont remember it going this before. estimating the temp to be at around 225-230. prolonged steep hill saw it peak to the halfway to 320 mark estimating 260ish oil temp. With how these gauges ticks are not always linear its why i say estimate but either way i feel like it is too high for casual driving with a bit of spirited but not too heavy constantly on the throttle.

Curious what others oil temp average location is when warmed up, is this normal or anybody else with a similar notice? might have to just bite the bullet and buy a scanner that can show the actual number of the oil temp. maybe the sensor is going bad and overshooting when warmed up, have no clue. want to get it addressed before it becomes an issue though.

2018 2.5L eAssist here. Normal cruising temp in this hot weather, my oil temp fluctuates between 200F up to 240F, which is totally normal. (image is from my owner's manual). I was concerned at first until I researched it and called two Buick dealers. My scanner always agrees with the dash readout so I now sleep at night. 🙂
