2024 Rear Differential

GM put an updated rear differential in the Cadillac XT4, which shared the TourX differntial until 2023. They changed very few of the other parts (seal and interfaces, etc), so they could limit the number of new parts. I am assuming that the change was to address the durability problems we all have seen. The question is does anyone think that the new differential could be a retrofit into the TourX? It's $1300, so it's a lot of money to just buy one to see if it'll fit, but if anyone needs a new rear diff this could be something to try.

I am sure the dealer would refuse, so this would have to be a home or independent shop install.

I believe this new diff is what dealers are ordering now. I was suppose to take my father to look at a TourX at a dealer in NJ, but the day before they called to state the rear diff needed to be replaced. Took them 3 weeks to get one, however they are dragging their feet about actually getting it installed. It's around a $3000 job including the diff price.
