Just did 12 inch front brake upgrade for the daughters 1998 Regal GS.
WOW, what a big improvement.
Stops so much better and I can't imagine she'll be able to warp these monsters!
Best $40 I have spent on a car yet!
For the curious, older W bodies (Regal, Grand Prix, etc.) have 11 inch rotors up front. 12 inch rotors and caliper brackets (like from a 2000 Impala) bolt right on. Can't use the OEM spare on the front now but an Impala spare from the junkyard will soon fix that.

Yup, easy upgrade right there! Well worth the money. Don't worry about the spare...you shouldn't use it on the front anyway on a FWD car. They're differential killers.

If you weren't aware, you can upgrade even further with the brackets and dual-piston calipers from an '06 or newer Impala. The rotors are still 12 inches.

yeah, I think there a lot of options for upgrades but was looking for simple and cheap for right now.
I noticed the upgrade caliper brackets and rotors are the same parts as on the Aurora's and I know a popular upgrade for those is to get Lucerne (or DTS) dual piston calipers and I think they even have a 13 inch rotor option! That would require an upgrade to 17 inch wheels and is probably overkill for the Regal but it would still be cool.
Bought this car for the youngest (17) but I really like driving it.....might have to get one for myself!

Are you able to use the original calipers with this upgrade?

I have a 1996 Regal GS that I would like to do this to. The original rotors are constantly warping and I am not particularly hard on them.

You have a different generation Regal than I and the brakes are different so I don't think this would work for you.
There might be options you can try though.
I would poke around the other forums like REGALGS.ORG and 3800PRO, etc. and see what your gen Regal can do.

Any idea if this will work on the older Lesabres? Mine is a 1990, and they have the same lug pattern, right? Though my wheels are just 14 inch, I may have a space issue.

Great, its really reasonable. Can you suggest any new upgrades for my 1995 Buick Regal Custom?
