I have a 1994 Buick Roadmaster estate wagon which needs the #10186118 Drive belt tensioner. Does anybody have one or knows where I might find one?
Thanks much,
Don K.

I just picked up a dayco tensioner at the local parts store. It seems a lot of the oem stuff is discontinued (opti-sparks, rear lower control arms, sway bars, driver's side exhaust manifolds, etc...)

Thanks for all of the input. Maybe I can find the tensioning bracket and just replace the pulley. Is that a possibility? I don't have any part of the tensioning assembly right now. The car presently has an electric fan installed, but tends to over heat. So, I was thinking that I should try going back to an original mechanicl fan set up. Any thoughts?
Thanks much,
Don K.

are you saying it's a single electric fan? no shroud? it would cool better with the mechanical fan and shroud in place.
the factory twin elec. fans work well on my car but I don't do any hauling/towing with it.

didn't realize at first the wagon tensioner has a different mounting style, that dayco tensioner won't bolt up...

If everything is in good working order and you have both electric fans working, you shouldn't be overheating. If you ONLY have the secondary electric fan, it will certainly overheat! If you have removed the mechanical fan without doing a full conversion to the dual electric fan configuration, then yes, you will overheat. But if you have done a complete dual electric fan conversion and all is working properly and it overheats, going back to a mechanical fan will not help any.

I have cars with the towing package and so the mechanical fan. The FIRST thing I do to these cars is covert to a dual electric fan setup. This involves wiring harnesses, a primary fan, 3 shorter bolts for the water pump, a different shroud setup, and to program the ECM to have the primary fan come on at the proper time.

Thanks much. I think that info will get me on the right track. I will make sure that the dual fans are working properly and that the ECM has been programed correctly.
