I'm starting to pull my hair out...
After putting half a tank of gas in at a gas station, my check engine light would come on and off. My Lesabre stalled out on me 5 times over the next 3 days while around idle in gear. I put in octane booster for the remainder of the bad tank and put a can of seafoam in with the next tank. I tried to go to an auto store to read the code with no luck. I figured out the jumper wire trick with obd1 computers and did that to get code 34 (Mass aif flow sensor). I then bough air flow sensor cleaner with mixed results. The light would go off and on and the car would "thud" while driving when the light would come on and off. I have read the code 3 different times and have always gotten the same code. I ordered a new duralast mass air flow sensor, and this make the car idle rough, and seem to miss when I drove it for about a quarter mile. I have no idea what is wrong with my car now, only that the check engine light code is for the mass air flow sensor. Please help

I have the same issue with my 1990 lesabre. I have torn apart, cleaned the sensor with MAF sensor cleaner. Initially the service light is off, but,,,,,, when I restart it (while warm), it comes back on. However, the idle is much better. I have just gotten paranoid after paying for tow trucks to get it out of traffic. It keeps giving out the 34 code. I have ordered a new MAF sensor and praying that that is what the problem is. However besides the fine wires breaking (they are fine). What could fail in the sensor to cause a replacement? If I'm successful, I will post results. If not, it's back to the drawing board.
