I have a 1992 Buick Roadmaster limited :headbang:. I have replaced the temp switch next to number 1 plug (not the problem), I have replaced the cluster in the dash (not that ether). I did replace the temp sensor on the manifold (that one goes to the computer). Gauge still not working 😡. When the car is warmed up the gauge will read just above 110, when I unplug the switch the gauge goes dead. so the wiring is getting some type of power to the cluster but, I still cant get it to work. I did check the wires to the plug then to the switch everything seems to be working properly but, I have not replaced the plug. At this point I have been throwing money at the problem and nothing. Next to putting in a universal switch and installing a temp gauge in the car, what can I do. Ive look everywhere online for any and every information I can find. Am I missing something or overlooking something, any ideas please help:sad:.

If the temperature sensor is anything at all like the style on my 99 Lesabre, it's just GM's poor quality control for the internal resistance of the sensor. The 99 Lesabre uses one sensor for the computer and dash. It has 3 wires, one for the computer circuit ground, one for the computer circuit voltage, and one for the dash voltage. The dash signal grounds through the block. For some reason, GM sensors don't keep an accurate resistance for the guage circuit.

I think I figured I would have to add a resistor in parallel with the dash wire and ground to get an accurate readout. It's not worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, I just installed a mechanical temperature gauge. I wanted to have an electrical temp gauge. Considering that wiring is the problem, I just went with the mechanical one.
