Hello all, back wth another question..
I posted a thread a while ago about my roadie breaking down. Thought it was the fuel pump bu that seems to be ok..thought it was an intake gasket, but that seems too be ok too..
then my husbands cousin suggested too check the sensors..
so my research brought me too the throttle position sensor.
All the symptoms of a failing tps seems too be what my car is doing. Itseems like an important sensor. We unhooked it and startedthe car and it acted the same.
Just wondering if anyonr has experience with this sensor if they could givemr some Words of advice ... thanks in advance for replies.
Engine is the L05

Hi,

For what it is worth, I had a failed TPS on my 95 LeSabre. (I did not realize it because the Check Engine Light was burned out so I never saw the warning.) Ran like this for a long time and I had one noticable problem.

The engine would from time to time cut off, just like some one had turned the key to the off position. Usually at slow speed, maybe in a turn like in a parking lot or while going thru a traffic light.

Finally realized this and changed the TPS, (and the CEL bulb.)

My cutting out problem has been cured, no cut off in many miles. I assume this is the cure.

John
