AC Went Out ....Again!

Last year my AC went out, it would just blow hot air and make a loud HIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS noise.

The stealership fixed it...to a tune of $1,000...they had to replace all of the AC hoses.

Last week, same thing happened, again, I turn AC on and all I get is hot air blowing at me and a loud HIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Any advice???

I'm taking it back to the dealer in a week but are they gonna charge me another $1,000? They said they will charge me $190 for "diagnostic" fee even though I told them the car has the same symptoms as before!

Am I just supposed to spent $1,000 every summer to fix this?

Maybe I can help. I just finished pretty much a complete rebuild of my AC system. The clutch on my compressor locked up and shredded the serpentine belt, so I ended up having to replace the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and the evaporator core. This included having to flush the lines and recharge the whole system.

Do you have a set of gauges to check the system pressure? If it’s blowing hot, either you’re low on Freon or your compressor isn’t engaging. If you’re low on Freon, there’s a leak somewhere.
