Buick Ownership
2000 buick lesabre limited
Ive been happilly driving my $1000 2000 Lesabre for 4 yearsand 30k miles. I have heeded the advise here to not roll the window all the way down.....But recently I heard a loud snap in the door on a very hot (100f+) day, and i hear what sounds like scratchy broken glass when i lift the window up and down...it still works, but at one point it wouldnt lift up, so i went down a little, and then back up, and thats where im going to leave it.

Damn...you spend good money on a car...you use it for 4 years....and then this happens(im kidding). Besides this, the OG rear air shocks failed earlier this year, and a bazilllion other little issues.

Too bad the entire car isnt as good as the 3800

Ok, rant over.

How many miles are on it right now?

I've replaced two in my four or five years of ownership. One was broken when I bought it and the other one failed in the middle of winter. Both were on the passenger side. I have the two for the driver side in stock just in case they fail. 180k miles on my 2002 Limited.

I've had to replace multiple regulators on every Lesabre I've had at some point. Either they were already bad when I bought the car and the window was jerry rigged up or it failed later. On the front, it does seem like the passenger fails more often than the driver, for some reason. Be thankful these are super, super easy to replace compared to other vehicles and relatively inexpensive, even for good quality replacements. This is a quick & easy job IMO, maybe an hour at the most, if that. Door panel off, remove the bolts, put the new one in, reverse. Try replacing a window regulator in a Lincoln Town car, for example. Held in by rivets that all have to be drilled out and replaced. Window has to completely be removed from, the car, etc.
