Ok so i posted a thread on my car with no results. My supercharged 95 riv has.... uh lets say a few problems. It seems to be a solid car. 120k miles. Runs good. But it has random lights come on everyday. Airbag light, security light, low coolant light, and traction control light but my button is broke so i get that one. Also my overdrive just plain quits working after 30 min almost exactly everyday. And my ac randomly works.(more often does not work) The pump wont even turn on or the ac fan. If i jump the relay it turns on and works great. All new ac components. Yes ALL new. Charged to the exact specs. And as for my overdrive it wont even call for 4th (od) after 30 min. So i replaced the thermostat for a 160 stat hoping it would cool the trans temps down as well with no luck. Anyone know whats going on? I have scanned it with a expensive computer and no codes at all and trans temp is always right at 200f. And will not call for 4th gear. Please help before i just sell it and take a loss.

PCM quad driver failure were quite common on the 94-95, have you replaced the PCM? The air bag light could be whole different problem! Are you absolutely sure the A/C charge is up to par?

The previous owner said he replaced the computer and all the ac. The ac is all new. And i hooked it up to a ac machine. Recovered all the r134a Wich was perfectly on spec. Vacuumed the system and recharged it. The ac blows cold when the relay is bypassed and the fan kicks on.

Oh and the airbag and security light rarely come on, but they do so i was wondering if it was computer/electrical related.

They could be related if you have moisture in the carpets, the front IRS sensor is located in the grill area of most Buicks. IIRC, the air bag module is located under the drivers seat. Do you have a '95 Riviera, or some other '95 Buick?? "Are you absolutely sure the A/C charge is up to par?"

Moisture is not a issue. I live in las vegas nv. so moisture is not a problem. It is a 95 rivierra. And yes i am 100 percent sure on the ac charge.

Yes. The electrical is far to complex for a 95 chevy imo. The excitement of a supercharged car is wearing off very fast at this point.

I'm having electrical problems in mine to some extent. I have some thoughts on your issues:

Trans temperature - have you added a gauge? Mine doesn't have a trans temperature gauge but my water temp is between I'd say 190 and 205 constantly so I think its somewhat normal. You might have a clog in the radiator a good flush I think would help. I do have a trans temp gauge in my F-150 and it sits around 196 all the time. I'd say that was pretty cool. You might want to add an aftermarket transmission cooler if you really want to cool the trans down.

AC Problem - Have no idea. You might need a new compressor switch or wiring is loose. Although you did say you put in new components. Is the relay new? Could be the thermostat control is going out?

Other issues - I defer to the experts on those.

the trans temp was from the expensive computer i used through the obd 1.5 port so thats what the computer was reading on the car itself from the trans. i figured swapping a 160 tstat would drop the trans temps because the trans cooler is in the radiator. The radiator is only a few months old so the trans cooler is fairly new as well. as far as the ac it is all literally new. The only thing i can think is the pressure switch is bad because as soon as i jump the relay it kicks on and works great. I checked the pressure with a 4 thousand dollar ac machine and it was perfect. I recovered all the r134a and vacuumed the system and refilled the system to gm's specks. It randomly works whenever it wants to. And it has been over 100 degrees out here in nevada and It has leather seats and Basically it is undriveable at this time. i was hoping that someone just knew what was gong on but i think i might just cut my losses and sell it. It seems to have too many gremlins that i dont have time to deal with. to me it seems to be a computer related problem, but the previous owner replaced the computer and the climate control and the ac system but the problem still persist. The car is basically rust free being out here in the desert so there is no corrosion. Anyone wanna buy a 95 buick????????????????? has all options (except ac and overdrive after 30 min

so is there any way to check my computer to see if it is getting signal to turn the ac on. my ac worked the other day just fine. The next day did not. Today i wiggled my key and it worked fine. I am wondering if my ignition could be playing a factor in my ac problem?? I dont know but its just a suggestion.

I don't like hanging parts to resolve issues. That being said, you stated that the previous owner replace the PCM. A used one may have the same issues as the one being replaced. or not. Have you checked to make sure it is the correct PCM for your car?

I doubt there is an owner in this forum that hasn't had a head scratching moment over the previous owner's handy work.

I have not checked the pcm out yet. He said it was a new one not a junkyard part, but who knows.

I had a similar problem with my 1995 Buick Riviera Supercharged. The warning lights would all come on at different times and some would stay on, the AC would not work at times, the turn signal would quit working, etc.
The mechanic at my garage somehow found the problem was the ignition wiring harness. He replaced it and all the problems went away!
