I posted a month ago about an electrical issue. I’ve narrowed it down to a possibly glitchy Body Control Module. I’ve found a used BCM with the same part # from a ‘99 Riviera. (I cannot find a BCM with my part # from a LeSabre.) I’ve been told that any replacement BCM will need to be programmed to function in my car. A Buick parts salesman said he doesn’t think a used BCM will even accept reprogramming. As used BCMs are sold I imagine that is not the case.
So, will a matching, used BCM work in my LeSabre? Assuming it would be reprogrammable would I need to have a dealer do it?
