Breathing

95 Buick Regal Custom 4 door Sedan 3.1 recently had work done in the area of rack & pinion. Shortly thereafter I was in the area checking out my O2 sensor and other components, when reaching up I had heard something like a metal rod tinge. On my visual inspection I saw nothing but when I put my hand on the crossbar something had fallen off from the the rack& pinion, well it’s called a breathing tube and it’s placement looks easy except for the fact it can go in the frontside or backside of the rack& pinion.
Please advise me where to look to get a visual.
