Buick GS Window Tinting Questions

Anyone ever heard of Nano-ceramic/polyester combination film: DARKMATTER? There is a local company that is selling this tint claiming that it is best tint on the market.

Utah has interesting tint laws, so I can only do 43% on front windows and then any tint on rears and back. I have always done 5%, and 5% visor strip to AS1 line.

I was hoping that someone had heard of this tint or could shed some light on why it is so fantastic.

He quoted me $230 for full tint including visor strip.

My local stereo/tint shop also sold me on what they called "ceramic" film. The clincher was their telling me that it would block even more heat than would the metallic film. Also, they said, the ceramic would not affect any connectivity such as the Bluetooth, whereas the metallic might.

The savage heat has yet to arrive, so I haven't noticed about the heat blocking. But the ceramic tint, during the 4-5 day "cure" period, didn't bubble up before the moisture went away -- a scenario I usually saw with the regular tint. The bubbles on the metallic tint lasted only about a day, and they never came back; but for that 24 hours the car looked funny. With this ceramic stuff, there was nary a bubble.

I appreciate the response. I have an appointment for the tint tomorrow at 4pm, so I will take pictures, so everyone can see. I looked up their website and read all their research, so it looked legit. glad that someone else had experience with it

One thing that bothers me about auto parts and service. Seems like the majority of companies are shady.

It's an easy film to lay and heat shrink. it's been around a while but not many shops carry it due to the expense. You can get lifetime warranty with cheaper tint so I've never done ceramic.

$230 for the entire car and they offer lifetime warranty. I think that is a fair deal.

What price point are you seeing for cheaper tint?

I just paid that for mine last Saturday. I got the better tint, otherwise it would only cost me $180. I haven't had any problems yet...knock on wood!

Thanks for the response. I picked up the car this morning and it is going to be tinted at 4pm MST

I will take some pictures tomorrow hopefully.
