My 2001 Buick Le Saber Factory Radio died. I ordered an exact replacement; however, I have not been able to get the radio serial # so I can't retrieve the unlock code. The attached file reflects the procedure required to have the radio display the serial number so the radio can be unlocked. The website link source is included in the attachment as well as a photo of my original radio. I have pasted the portion of the procedure where I reach an impasse.

Additionally, I have reached out to the dealers in my area by phone and they are not convinced they can help but will try for the fee of a diagnostic test. All were >$100 without a guarantee. In other words, they get paid even if they don't solve my problem. How about them apples!

Please help....Any ideas or suggestions?

Step 2 - Retrieve radio serial#

The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode.

Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC). My Radio Reads LOC.

Press and hold preset buttons 2 & 3 or 1 & 4 for approximately 10 seconds. No Results! The Radio does not display any numbers!
