Hello everybody, I have a buick rendezvous with 146000km. I once checked the trans fluid it was below add so I decided to add some. Went to canafian tire could not find any dexron iii but found the new dexron vi(mobile 1) and added to my buick only 200ml to see if it would work. It seemed to be fine . Next day in cold weather -30 I crank it did not show anything special on the way to work. When coming back I was not able to pass 43km/h I was hardly able to reach 50km/h and rpm was at 2500. One week later I had a pan drop and fill withe new filter and gasket. It was ok out of the shop but did the same on that evening.The car would perform ok once driven for 20min in local or no problem when the weather is above 0 degree celcius. I have also replaced the epc no big change a whine noise quit because I would always try hard to keep it at 50.Last week I pumped out 1 quzrt of trasn fkuid and put in some motormaster dexron ii,iii and mecron fluid. I shift better(quicker) not slow from first to second. The car seems to be powerless. I did not have any of this issue before messing up with it. Now the would shift into 3rd gear after 10 -15mins at 40 45kmph. Please help.
Ps. How to you roughly check trans fluid when cold and engine off. There is a black plastic knot on the dipstick. Should the fluid be above or below that.
