Hopefully this is in the right forum "room". I'm considering purchasing a 2017 Encore Premier II with a sunroof and 9,500 miles. Around $16K in price. Honestly, my first car was a GM car (Chevy Nova). Let's just say we parted company as soon as I was financially able. I haven't bought another GM since.

So......would this be a smart purchase given the data above and has this car been overall reliable?? There are no GM dealers where I live (small town in New Mexico) and the closest dealer is two hours away. Reliability is a must!

I want a small vehicle that is tall (as is the Kia Soul which I currently own) but that is quiet and rides comfortably (not the Soul). The Encore seems to fit the bill though every review complains about lack of power (in the port injected motor).

Any input that would help in my decision to purchase is greatly appreciated.

Regardless of whether it is a GM or other brand of vehicle, if you are one to look to a dealership for repairs whether they are under warranty or not, then I would probably buy a vehicle brand that has closer dealership representation than 2 hrs away.

As far as reliability, I don't think the Encore is any worse or any better than any other vehicle in that same price/size category.

KevinJ, thanks for the reply. If I only bought from dealers here, it would be Dodge (never), Toyota or Ford. I guess I'll "takes me chances". One bright note....I found a GM dealer one hour away that I didn't know existed.
