Hi all,
I'm new here, this is my first post. I'm currently rebuilding my wife's 01 Century and when removing the camshaft bearings I forgot to document the oil hole alignment for the camshaft bearings. After I realized my mistake I figured it would be in the repair manual...it's not. The procedure in the repair manual says:
Install the 3rd bearing.
Install the 2nd bearing.
Install the outer bearings.

Anyhow, there is one bearing that is different from the rest, it has a groove that is perpendicular to the circumference of the bearing as well as a second oil hole. Both of the outer camshaft journals have two oil holes but the don't match up with the oil holes in the bearing. I can't quite decipher from this over the top installation guide which journal the different bearing is supposed to go in, I'm also not sure of the orientation of the groove. I'm fairly certain that this bearing is supposed to go into the first journal (next to the timing chain) and the purpose of the groove is let some oil get to the timing chain. Which would mean that as long as the groove is at the 6:00 position and the oil hole is lined up it should be good. If I assume incorrectly I've will have wasted a lot of time and money. Can anyone confirm or know where I can find this information? Google hasn't been helpful in finding out this answer.

Not having any luck finding anything either, have you tried calling a machine shop, they will know. Whether or not they will tell you is different but the machine shop near me is where I have mine done. It is a pretty common thing for these motors.
