Can i use a OBD II scanner on my 96 PA?

HI Buick gurus,

I recently purchased my 2nd Park Avenue, my first was a 93 with OBD 1 onboard, but this 96 has a OBDII.
So my question is: can i use any gm compatable scantool or do i need a specific one?
I was thinking about purchasing an ''iCarsoft CR Max'' does anyone have expericence with those?

I use the Actron CP9690 on my OBDII vehicles & it is also compatible with OBD1 cars. I also have the Autel MK808S bidirectional scanner, but very seldom use it for the basic troubleshooting.
