can you spray lubricant behind the Belt tentioner 3800 v6 2003 Buick

I was wondering if you could spray lubricant behind the Belt tentioner on a 3800 v6 2003 Buick lesabre
just to do it for preventive maintenance ? I know there is a spring behind it and sealed bearings so it would be more for the spring to move smoothly?

Yes can do that, but be very careful with the amount of spray and be sure not to allow it to drip on the drive belt.

Thanks because I was toying with the idea to keep the spring clean and lubricated with a light oil like liquid wrench and there is a small 1/4 inch opening behind the belt tentioner.
