2011 Regal
Hello
I have a 2011 Regal fwd with a 2.4l ecotec.
Vehicle runs awesome when cold and when crusing, but after 25 mins of driving, struggles to idle and feels like its going to die out...
The reduced engine power comes on and trips dtcs p0089 / p228d
I have had it at mulitple shops with no resolve.
Have put mulitple high pressure pumps / cat / phazers / solenoids / MAF / plugs / coils / intake gasket / timing components and still can not correct this issue

If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I know this is an old post, but I do get the same codes. I’ve done plugs and coils. 3 failures on #3 alone. I will also get a #3 misfires occasionally.

I’m thinking a possible vacuum leak or something in the evap system, fuel rail sensor, or wiring, bad / stuck injector(s) (not likely), and cleaning throttle body (can’t hurt things).

I’ve been researching these codes for a bit and no definitive answer except replacing timing chain. That’s a lot of money and labor for a guess.
