The fuel pump took a dive on my Rendezvous. My husband is trying to drop the tank. He "thinks" he has everything disconnected, but cannot get the tank to budge at all. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a trick to it, or something that he needs to look for that he might be missing?

Any help you could provide would be great.

Thank you!

Shannon

The instructions i found were to disconnect the wire harness from the body, disconnect the 3 fuel lines near the fuel filter (they have quick disconnect fittings) and free the lines from their retaining bracket, remove the filler tube hose (there may be a vent tube that needs disconnected as well, the diagram i have doesn't show one, but there are some pictures on line that do so not sure if you'll find one or not) and what he may be missing is to remove the nut attaching the evap canister bracket to the body which may be hidden by the heat shield. Otherwise with both straps removed the fill tube and the bracket nut are the only things i can think of that would keep it from budging. It may also be worth it to mention there is note that it may be necessary to remove the evap canister before removing the tank depending on engine size and vin number. Not sure on the details of the situation but might be something to look into if still no luck.
