I've read and watched a few videos, but can't solve this so far. I have an '03 LeSabre Limited with the dual climate control. It's new to me. The air won't change between the window, vents, and floor. I tore into it and found the two actuators on the driver's site. I pulled the blend door mode actuator and can move the post by hand to stop and start the floor air flow, but it doesn't seem to change the vent or defroster air. I purchased and installed a new actuator (16164972). It doesn't do anything. I let it dangle and changed the air mode and it doesn't move. When I change the temperature, if I go very low it soft of shifts back-and-forth a little, but doesn't rotate more than a degree or two.
It doesn't make sense to me that it would rotate at all, unless I'm misunderstanding how this system works. I thought this actuator changed where the air blows, not what temperature. Is it possible someone switched the cables? Shouldn't the air start and stop in the vents and the defroster when I rotate the post by hand? I'm baffled (heh).
