Hey, was wondering if anyone has a 95-99 lesabre with lights on the letters of the non-dual climate control. Iv seen 2000-2005s with it but Iv never seen the older models with it. I attached some pictures to show what I’m talking about, thanks.

Are you asking if they light up or if they can be fixed?
The buttons and backlight is supposed to work, yes, yours have a bunch of burned out bulbs. Theres services on ebay and elsewhere to send them in the mail to fix them, or buy ones refurbnished already

Yeah I was just wondering if they are even supposed to light up at all as they have been off since I got the car. If they are suppose to on 98s, it seems like a failure point because I can’t find any pictures of working ones online, except for dual climate versions. I wasn’t sure if it was a dual climate only type of deal and didn’t wanna go through the process of fixing something that isn’t even broken. Thx for the info.

My 04 has one light working on the climate control, the rest blew out. I wanna tackle that project myself, but I guess it doesn't bother me enough.
Yeah Iv been debating doing it as well. I wish they would have just used lights that could be easily replaced like gauge cluster lights.

A guy I work with did the job on his gmc envoy climate control. It was a pain in the ass! He used leds and the final outcome looks sweet.

if you use LED on the lesabre for this function you may screw up radio backlighting possibly, and they may not dim right

If you have any worn buttons, LED will look BRIGHT

Interesting. If I do it, I probably won't use leds if it's gonna cause a issue.

You can send these off to someone who specializes in this and have the bulbs replaced, easy peezy. The climate control panel is super easy to remove. I did my Limited one last year because 90% of the illumination lights were out and it was driving me crazy. It cost less than $100 including shipping both ways and was back in less than a week, so very little downtime. Looks beautiful at night now. Uses factory-style bulbs. I believe the place was in TN. If you need the name, let me know and I’ll look in my records and post it.

One thing that might prolong the life of the bulbs is to turn DOWN the brightness of the lights on the control panel. When set to the highest setting, they get really hot, which can shorten their life. Turning it down helps with heat and possibly longevity.

I sent my control panel to a place in Wisconsin that repairs the lights and send it back to you. Unless you are really good with soldering small electrical parts, I would not attempt this fix on your own.

I second that. When I first got my vehicle, I found a shop that does this in Tennessee and at the time the dash and the climate control lights cost about $100 to replace. I am just about to send in my steering wheel controls and radio to a shop in Ohio for light bulb replacements. In total it costs less than $150 (including shipping both ways).

I tried to replace my bulbs and ended up botching it. In the end only one of the bulbs I installed actually works. I don't think I have the right soldering equipment/experience. I didn't know there were shops that would do this for you. I would recommend it.

Just out of curiosity, does that place happen to be Anthony's Cluster Repair in Ripley, TN? I used him and I can not recommend him enough, he is superb!
