Climate vent direction knob?

Hi all, My knob for the HVAC controls that controls the bi-level vents, defogger, etc just spins freely and falls off the panel.

I have a 2005 Buick Century.

I have the manual dual-zone A/C and it is stuck on Max A/C. Heat works but I would like my defroster given that winter is approaching.

Have you tried wrapping the shaft with some duct tape and then installing the knob?

If you can't get the mode selector knob to stay on or if the switch it connects to has broken and will not change from one mode to the other, you might have to install a new climate control module. You have two choices if you need to replace the module.

One, visit a junk yard;
