I noticed my center console light wasn't working when opening the armrest lid.
I bought some #194 LEDs and the LED flickered like there was barely enough power to light it.
I figured LED problem, so I inserted a standard incandescent #194. No light at all.
I tested 12.0V at the socket. Good.
Plugging the bulb inside plastic lense into a 9V battery lights the incandescent bulb dimly as expected.
But installing the bulb into the socket pulls the 12V right down to 0V with no illumination at all.
Anyone know what fuse this is on ?
I'll trying buying a new bulb, but may have to settle for a flickering LED or no light at all.
I used two of these Philips LED #194 bulbs above my license plate without any problem.
Any suggestions ?

I replaced mine recently and no issues really. If I remember right when i first plugged in my LED it flickered then worked great. Did you try turning the LED bulb around as they only work one direction if you insert it and does light take out turn it 180 degrees and put back in. That's what I did on mine when replaced all interior bulbs to LED. Weird you not getting power with bulb but without it shows correct voltage. Also the console lid might not be triggering the switch fully maybe.

Yes, I tried turning it. It really puzzles me that there isn't enough current for the incandescent.
I have to believe its a faulty bulb, pinched wire or bad fuse/relay.
A 9V battery lit the bulb.

I don't have that exact model, so I can't say. The normal circuit is like this. Battery goes to the BCM. On the load side of the BCM, there are individual output circuits for the loads and fuses. What can happen? The bulb may burn open, or it might go short. The BCM will sense those. If the output circuit directly on the BCM fails, then it should post a code for that.

As a general rule, the fuse box under the hood supplies the circuits that remain under the hood. The fuse box near the steering wheel supplies the circuits that remain in the passenger compartment. Your owner's manual should list most of that.

I guess you know that there is a completely different current flow for incandescent versus LED.
